We love harsh critiques at Mevanu.

Before an idea reaches engineering, we research it, synthesize the findings into a coherent brief, and ask a specialist to challenge the proposal. It’s due diligence. Even a favorite idea may belong in a drawer—or the dustbin.

Hi, I’m Alice from Mevanu. Our AI code slop audit showed this scrutiny at work. That same healthy skepticism runs through our other decisions—keeping our workflows disciplined and our critical eye sharp, especially when things seem to be going well.

We take our ideas seriously enough to challenge them.

Ethical AI use is one recurring discussion. Our founder is also an educator and knows firsthand the tensions on campuses, especially in the humanities. Concerns about plagiarism—in classrooms, writers’ rooms, and artists’ studios—led us to consider having Brava refuse all creative-work requests.

Challenging that proposal exposed what a blanket ban would also exclude: original creation.

For students, the discussion extended from authorship to learning. With the pressure and packed schedules many teenagers face, how could Brava encourage them to think through problems, rather than make cognitive offloading and cheating more tempting?

Research and review led us toward a nuanced position, with integrity and learning guiding the help we want Brava to offer. Adults remain in charge of their own decisions, even when we might disagree.

These habits of mind carry into engineering. Scrutiny can change a diagnosis, narrow a repair, or expose unnecessary complexity. When criticism holds up, we make the smallest complete correction, preserve what works, and independently check the result against the goal. We aim for rigor without needless delay or wasted tokens.

That final check brings us back to the user. A passing code test still leaves a question: can someone actually complete the task in the installed app?

Plus, the reviews themselves need scrutiny. They can be wrong, too. And so it goes.

We’re carrying that discipline into Brava’s intelligence and memory work—and into the partnership we want it to offer users.

When was the last time you put one of your own ideas on the chopping block?
